vacation

J and I are in need of a vacation. All year long we were planning on going to Niagara Falls and Toronto during the summer. But then Peanut came into the picture, and I wasn't feeling too well, and now it seems a bit cold for the Falls.

This is where you come in. I need a vacation spot. We don't want to spend a ton of money, and would prefer not to fly - we're just looking for a fun and relaxing, reasonably priced, vacation. We're also looking to get away for at least a week, maybe a bit more. My only stipulations - not Vegas - if I'm going there I want to be able to drink, and not camping - sleeping in my own comfy bed is hard enough right now, I don't need to be on the floor in a sleeping bag.

what about the poconos? that seems pretty chill, easy to relax and I don't think too far

my brother and sister-in-law go to Traverse City like once a month. I've never been... but they way they frequent it, there must be something to it.

Hmmmmm...

We did the falls in February, but the only fun in the cold weather was drinking and casino, so probably not fun while preggo.

We have a time share at Boyne (near Petoskey), and I know that right now it's 'mud' season because you can't golf of ski, so rooms are cheap. But if you want to spend a whole week or more, I'm not sure there's enough to occupy your time.

I've got no other ideas. I'm bad at this. We bought the time share because it's a great way to have cost efficient family vacations. We thought it would force us to use it, no luck so far. We're bad at making time for vacations! Let us know what you decide!

I don't know, I think the falls might still be fun! If you come in the next couple of weeks, the weather should still be tolerable. Just bring a warm coat. :)

(Have you seen them before? If not, you ABSOLUTELY need to at some point. I've been several times since I moved to Toronto, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of it.)

How about Chicago? Or Grayling?

I don't know how long your drive is to Wisconsin, but you could always visit Madison or Milwaukee! :)

I think I'd like to go in this colder weather to The Mall of America. Just window shopping for 10 minutes in each story would take over 86 hours to do. The mall does offer package getaways. Plus there's an underwater aquarium, science Museum and a zoo near by in Minnesota too.
Added bonus: no sales tax on clothing!

Check it out--I know lots of people who've gone there.

I'd go south, to Charleston or somewhere that has some touristy pretty stuff and lots of cute B&Bs.

I really like the North Carolina/South Carolina coast... Myrtle Beach is nice. Also, I hear they have a really nice zoo there :)
