What can I say? Life is freaking busy.
Boys - both are adorable and wonderful. Except that ever since Max hit 4 months, he has decided it is super-duper important to wake up at least 3 times a night. So I could totally live without that.
Also, he can't decide if he is a happy and round baby, or a really upset and round baby. He is for sure round, especially when compared to JJ.
Max stats - 4 months
15 pounds - 50th percentile
25 inches - 50th percentile
I'm pretty sure JJ always hung out around the 10th percentile. What I know for sure is that JJ is still wearing size 4 diapers (I'm sure he could do 5's, but hello?! they cost more!), and I just stuck Max in a size 3 for bedtime (because if I have to change one more sheet at 3AM, I am going to scream. Also, all of the sheets might be in a giant ball in the washer...). Draw your own conclusions, I think Max is going to give JJ a run for his money one day ;)
Last night Max had his first bites of "food." It was a big step for me. JJ had food for the first time at 6 months, and he had delicious mashed banana - unprocessed and wonderful, he's been a total fruit-arian ever since. Giving Max rice cereal at 4 months sort of made me a bit uneasy. Maybe I'm just crazy (probably). Anyway, he managed to ingest a little bit of it, and he seemed to like it (no tears, lots of grunting), but he hasn't pooped since he ate it, and he didn't magically sleep through the night after eating (I was totally hoping that would happen) - so I'm still on the fence. We ended up at a corn maze/pumpkin patch for the evening and came home too late for baby mealtime, so I just nursed him :)
I know I have more, but coherent-sentence-formation is eluding me. So here are JJ and J running through the corn maze.

Awwww! You have a second little towhead, look at all that super blonde hair, I love it!
On the food thing: welcome to multiple children! I promise it will cause you to do more things that you swore you wouldn't do! Ava never had McD's until after her third birthday. I wouldn't let her eat processed food. Noah had it before he turned one...it's just what the second child does to you.
Jonah did the same thing as Max with sleeping around 4 months old, I mixed a tablespoon or two of rice cereal into a breastmilk bottle for night time, and it made a difference. That way, he was able to get more cereal ingested that he would have from eating from a spoon. I was leary about the cereal in a bottle, but doctors actually recommend it for reflux-y babies, so I figured it wasn't the worst thing in the world. Plus he's the third, so my parenting ideals were comprimised long ago:) I'm not joking, he's totally eating cheez-its in my bed as I type this:)
I wish my child would STOP waking up 3-4 times a night. I wonder if he'll sleep through the night at 4 months if he's up now?
I started mixing rice cereal into bottles 3 weeks ago. I also noticed it kept him from pooping as much but he never seems uncomfortable. I was worried he may get constipated so I also started mixing in a little wheat cereal for fiber. He went 2 days without pooping but now poops regularly again. He does sleep a little better and doesn't spit up as much with the cereal mixed into the bottle!
I love having a tiny baby! He's fiesty too! I hope we can see each other around Christmas. If not I'm hoping to spend a few weeks in the midwest this summer!
Ashlyn is definitly giving Kayla a run for the money. They are in the same size diapers when I'm not cloth diapering. She was in the 50th for a while, but has gone down to the 25th(ish or less). Kayla was less than thrilled when Ashlyn was wearing her shorts this summer. haha
Rice cereal did nothing for my girls besides plug them up. We gave Ashlyn Yogurt Cereal last week on recommendation from the doctor and she's gone 'maybe' three times since then. Poor girl is a little miserable and she still isn't sleeping at night. I could definitly use the sleep.
Glad to see things are well!
